Daniel M. is well known for his beautiful, dimensional colors. His attention to detail and leadership skills have earned him a spot as one of the most sought after colorists in California.
Combining his passion for education, his exceptional eye for creating color that compliments his clients’ skin tone and his warm personality, Daniel has created a distinctive style, look and service experience that his clients love.
In addition, Daniel has dedicated the last six years of his career to teaching his techniques to other stylists around the world and has earned the tittle of one of the most successful independent color educators in the US.
Self-taught and self-made, Daniel has a special way of inspiring others. His resilience and commitment to hard work have earned him ambassadorship positions with some of the most successful hair color and hair extensions companies in the world. Currently Daniel holds a coveted position as brand ambassador for WELLA, a selective and innovative global leader in the beauty industry.
When the world shut down in 2020, Daniel was faced with novel challenges that shifted his perspective about the hair industry. He realized that he wanted to create a space where he and other stylists could grow and feel supported. More so, he wanted to provide his clients with a serene environment where they could relax and forget about the outside world while experiencing exceptional hair services and treatments.
Therefore, Daniel collaborated with best friend and master stylist Chaie de Jesus, to bring a new salon culture to the world. A place of inclusion, creativity, education and success that Daniel can’t wait to share with all of his clients!

Chaie is well-known and loved by her clients for her meticulous attention to detail and deep commitment to ensuring that every client leaves her chair feeling sexy, confident and thrilled with her work.
Combining her expertise in the art of cutting, a passion for hair and her unique sense of style and creativity, Chaie has created her signature look - a flattering, effortless style that is edgy, high fashion and uniquely suited to each client’s individual beauty and flair.
In addition, Chaie has always believed in passing on her knowledge and love for her craft to everyone around her, and loves teaching clients how to make the most of their cuts after they leave the salon.
Having started her training under Shannon Rha, owner of Shannon Hair in Valencia, CA, Chaie continued to hone her craft while assisting Sally Hersberger at Sally Hershberger LA and later at Meche Salon in Beverly Hills.
When faced with the unprecedented challenges of 2020, Chaie remained resilient and dedicated to continuing to provide excellent service to her clients. Navigating through this difficult period strengthened and enlightened Chaie and gave her a higher purpose.
And thus, Onyx on Madison was born. Chaie joined forces with one of her best friends and greatest supporters, top colorist Daniel M., to create an intimate, beautiful space where the client’s experience is always the highest priority and where their fellow artists can create, have access to the best professional education and live their dreams.

My journey through the hair world began 15 years ago. What began as a part time Front Desk Coordinator position while attending Art School quickly evolved into a rewarding Career. As a first generation daughter helping my Mami sell beauty products, to working the flea market with my Abuelita (Grandmother), I adopted an entrepreneurial spirit. Beginning in a corporate world and transitioning to independent businesses, I developed an eye for establishing a culture within unique salon environments. Being in a salon I thrived in the creative space surrounded by small business owners. My intuitive, caring nature combined with my experience in the business world served as a solid foundation which helped elevate my contribution to the industry.

Lexy Vazquez is originally from OC, but began her career as a hairstylist in 2008 in El Paso, TX. As a child, she always knew she wanted to be an artist of some sort. Hair allowed her to be just that, and it became a constant in her life. Her adventurous spirit and time in the military allowed her to live and work behind the chair in different parts of Texas, Germany, Hawai'i and Washington. After many moves, she finally decided it was time to come home and set down roots. Her unique life experiences exposed her to diverse hair types and textures and inspired her to seek texture education. She is certified in the Forever Curls Method and has attended numerous education events to perfect her craft. She specializes in Dimensional Lived-in Color and Cuts on all textures. Lexy prides herself in creating an inclusive space in her chair where all clients can feel seen, heard and beautiful.

An LA native, Jamie Vital has been a hairstylist since 2009. She knew she had an obsession with hair at the early age of 2. As soon as Jamie could, she enrolled at Paul Mitchell the School in Costa Mesa, CA where she trained to be hairstylist.
Jamie is truly committed to her craft and education. She believes that the moment she stops educating herself is the moment she closes the door on her career! Jamie has also gone through several educational classes over the years and is a Wella certified Master Color Expert. Not to mention a three time finalist in Wella Trend Vision competition for North America and 2018 Bronze winner.
Jamie continues to build herself in her career, she kind and honest. She’s truthful with her clients which has lead her to build a strong clientele. She love what she does and it shows through her work.

Angela brings to the Onyx team with over 14 years of experience and is known for her expertise in color longevity . She strives to make her custom color grow out so well that her clients are still getting compliments even when they are due for their next appointment. Her specialty is dimensional lived in hair. Over the years, to help sharpen her skills and keep up with current trends, Angela has taken advance education courses like curated cutting with celebrity stylist Anh Co Tran, Wella master color expert, Oribe, Bumble and Bumble, along with the numerous guest artists classes hosted at Onyx.
When she is not in the salon, Angela and her husband are busy raising 2 beautiful girls. She relaxes by cooking and baking for her family, friends, and the Onyx team. Her food repertoire varies everything from her native Vietnamese cuisine to foods from all over the world, which has shaped her daughters' sophisticated food palette.

Edwin Ramirez has been a stylist for 12+ years with a background and training with Wella, Redken, Goldwell, Aveda, Vidal Sassoon. Edwin has a true understanding of harmonizing the cut to the color of the client and individualizing the look to his clients needs. Specializing in dramatic makeovers, color corrections, short haircuts, & vivid colors.

Aimi took a simple idea of playing with hair and transformed it into her creative outlet. Now based out of Pasadena with 10 years of experience she is now a dry cutting & treatment specialist. Her long term goal is educating clients on how to get their desired look while taking the necessary steps on keeping their hair as healthy as possible while using clean products.Learning from mentors who have trained under Sally Hershberger and Anh Co Tran Aimi developed her own sense of style by creating light and airy hairstyles while maintaining a strong shape that will grow out seamlessly.At the time while working at the well known blowout bar, Drybar Aimi also ventured off working on photo shoots, music videos, beauty campaigns, and weddings. Working with product brands like Drybar, Sebastian, Living Proof, Oribe, etc. she has come to love brands that have cleaner ingredients like Milbon, Design Me, Kloraine, and Iles. She stands by only using the cleanest most nourishing well-rounded products for her clients.Specializing in an array of treatments from Japanese based head spas, and moisture treatments, to 100% formaldehyde free smoothing Hair Botox treatments, Aimi loves being able to transform clients scalp and hair by customizing each treatment to suit clients specific needs.

With over a decade of salon experience, it’s no wonder that Danielle’s clients have developed a strong loyalty for her ability to achieve best in class results. Graduating from the Tony & Guy assistant program as a cutting specialist, and furthering her education in color by taking advanced classes provided by Redken, Wella, and Bumble and Bumble artist, Danielle has provided world class services for Hollywood’s elite, including Chris Brown, Halle Berry, Karushi Tran and more.
As a strong advocate of continued education and modern approach to hairdressing, Danielle developed a mastery in both balanced cutting techniques and precision dimensional lived-in color, providing unique yet functional results for Southern California clientel. In 2016, Danielle moved to the Bay area to continue her studies, providing superior services for Silicon Valley clients while completing a degree in health and wellness from Cal State San Francisco.
Since 2021, Danielle has been part of the Onyx Pasadena team, providing specialty services for both cutting and lived in color clients.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California Jordan started his career in 2011 at the TONI&GUY hair dressing academy where he built a strong foundation for technique and application. This then lead him to Beverly Hills, CA where he began his journey into becoming a colorist. Fast forward 11 years later, Jordan has earned a reputation in dimensional blonding and bronzing. With taking inspiration from the beach and the southern California lifestyle, you will be immersed in gradient, sun kissed, lived in color. Along with his passion and love for color, Jordan has also dedicated his time to educating around the nation, helping curate and develop individuals in becoming passionate well equipped artists for the future.

From the early age of 7 years old, I knew I wanted to become a hairstylist. I grew up surrounded by a family of hairstylists and barbers, which paved the way for me to explore the possibilities of this profession. I was born in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico. Surrounded by the ocean breeze and the rich culture. Then I moved to a small town called Blythe, California, where all you see is miles and miles of dry desert. The time in Blythe was isolating, but that’s where I learned to practice and perfect my craft. There were not many opportunities there, so I decided to take the leap of faith and move to LA in 2018. The past few years have been filled with incredible growth and opportunity since moving to the city. Fast forward now, and with 8+ years of experience, I specialize in blonding, color corrections, cuts, and extensions. I am always aspiring to learn and gain knowledge about the latest trends. As my love for my craft continues to grow.

Meet Marcela Lara also known as “Marcy” one of our authentic artist here at Onyx. Marcy is known as the late comer in the Hairdresser industry. Formerly surmounting her career in Property Management / The Real Estate industry
Marcy’s endeavors for the Hair industry began in 2021 where she developed her skills at Tony & Guy Academy. Immediately after completing her academics , then starting here at the salon at Onyx. Furthering her education by Assisting other Hairstylist, utilizing her time through perpetual classes on color, products & extensions. Constantly embedding new techniques to her craft and bringing her personal touches by customizing your Hair service & needs.
When she isn’t working behind the chair or raising her 3 wild children; Her hobbies are exploring the outdoors, hiking, running, reading, and dancing. She is fueled by her home made coffees, or expensive iced lattes ! 😝
Marcy illustrates a genuine connection with her clients forthcoming with a strong back ground with her customer relations, she is well known for both the dimensional Brunette look & specializing in cuts. She prioritizes her clients hair needs above all and is widely known for her professionalism and customizing your salon experience.
